Engineering Resins

Sometimes, standard commodity resins fail to meet the needs of a product. When that happens, it's time to look at engineering resins. Engineering resins offer better thermal, chemical, and/or mechanical properties than commodity plastics, but are typically more expensive and difficult to process. Often looked at as a potential substitute for metal parts in areas where commodity plastics simply don't hold up, engineering resins can offer great cost and weight reduction without sacrificing strength or thermal and chemical resistance.

Additionally, the properties of a resin can be changed through the use of various additives. These allow us to further enhance the performance of plastic materials by adjusting mechanical performance, thermal conductivity, electro static dissipativity, and many other characteristics.

At Pilgrim Innovative Plastics, LLC, we've used a wide variety of engineering resins in product development as well as production. Whether you're just beginning to consider engineering materials or you've been using them for years and just aren't happy with the results, bring your product to PIPLLC and we'll help you determine the best course of action. We have the experience to know when commodity plastics aren't going to be enough, the knowledge to find the right substitute, and the expertise to consistently manufacture quality parts.
