Pilgrim Innovative Plastics, LLC is proud to be a locally owned and operated business located in America's hometown of Plymouth, Massachusetts. Founded in February of 1999 with an initial focus on short-run injection molding, and now expanded to include high volume molding. We have the expertise you're looking for to help bring your product from concept to manufacture.
With little more than a desk and a dream, Joel Nickerson leased a 2,500 square foot warehouse near his home and set off to find used equipment and new customers. Building a business at this time wasn't easy. Many manufacturers were failing, which came with one advantage: equipment auctions were everywhere. Refusing to take a loan and be beholden to the bank, our first purchase was a molding machine with as much experience as Joel. It wasn't pretty, but when he looked at it, he didn't see a worn out old hydraulic press, he saw his future. Soon after, within a month of being founded, he'd landed his first customer and finally had a chance to use his machine molding products destined for sale on QVC.
It wasn't long before Pilgrim hired our first two employees, and in January 2000, we'd outgrown our space and moved next door. In the years that followed, we expanded into adjacent space while acquiring additional machines, growing our operation to eleven molding machines ranging from twenty-eight to three-hundred thirty tons. In 2010, we proudly became ISO 9001:2008 certified by BSI under certificate number FM552421, and in 2017 we became certified under the newer ISO 9001:2015 standard.
Having worked in the injection molding industry for over forty years, Joel has experience in everything from product design, engineering, and manufacturing to sales and has been bringing ideas to fruition for most of his life. Our desire is to work with you to achieve your product design goals at a reasonable price and our facility is equipped to do just that, offering 3D design for manufacturability and material selection assistance. We also maintain a close relationship with our network of mold makers to provide quick turn-around on mold modifications should your needs change.
When your product is ready for full-scale production, we're ready too. Our 14,400 square foot facility in the Plymouth Industrial Park is arranged to support customers with personal attention while meeting the need for high volume manufacturing. Need more than basic one-shot injection molding? Our production services also include insert and two-shot molding, product assembly, ultrasonic welding, and sublimation printing.
Our business is built around solid engineering and quality control. If you aren't happy as a customer, we aren't happy. To that end, we always inspect and save the first and last part of any production run, with continuous in-process inspection on more complex parts with stricter requirements. Inspections are performed without halting production, ensuring there are no delays in getting your product delivered. Our goal is 100% on-time delivery of quality product.
